Quran verse 27:88 says that on Judgement Day the mountains that you thought were solid will move past like clouds.
Harun Yahya imaginatively interprets this verse as revealing that solid objects are mostly empty space, with the nucleus of an atom being small compared to the distance away of the cloud of electrons moving around it.
ELECTRONS PAIRED WITH PROTONS
Quran verse 51:49, on the day of creation when Allah created plants and animals, states that everything was created in pairs. One Muslim website interprets this as a revelation that electrons are paired with protons. But this interpretation does not explain why Allah, when He created the Quran, waited until the verse about plants and animals to mention protons rather than revealing the existence of protons in the verse about the first day of creation.
ENERGY LEVELS IN AN ATOM
Edip Yüksel interpreted Quran verse 65:12 (which is about the seven heavenly bodies known by ancient civilizations: the moon, the sun, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn) to be revealing that atoms on Earth contain a maximum of 7 energy levels. This claim is based on the false belief that the Earth is not a planet, and that the moon, sun, and five planets move in circular paths around the Earth.
SPLIT AN ATOM
The Study Quran accurately translates verse 10:61 as the weight of a mote of dust or less rather than the currently popular interpretation by Nuri & Hoque and by others of the weight of an atom or less.
The problem with this translation is that the Arabic word dharratin means “smallest particle”, which at the time of Mohammed would have meant a speck of dust, because they had no knowledge of anything smaller than a speck of dust.
Nuri & Hoque in 1964 interpreted “heaven shall be like molten brass” in Quran verses 70:8-11 about Judgement Day as a prophecy of evil people dropping the atomic bomb. [This prophecy was never mentioned by any Quran translation prior to World War II.]
FUSION OF HYDROGEN INTO HELIUM
Harun Yahya claims that Quran verse 36:38 about the sun either running to its resting place or running for a specified term is not about day and night, but is a revelation that someday the sun will exhaust its supply of hydrogen to fuse into helium.
