THIS POST CONTAINS SEXUAL CONTENT WHICH MAY OFFEND SOME PEOPLE.

WILL IT BE A BOY OR A GIRL?
Some Muslim websites interpret the pair of Quran verses 53:45-46 as saying that the sex of a baby is determined by the sperm of the father.
The verse could also be interpreted as agreeing with the 4th century BC teachings of Aristotle [who did not know about the female’s egg cells] that warm sperm increases the probability that a baby will be a boy, but that a cold uterus can cause the baby to be a girl. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/books/NBK9985/
A Muslim cleric has said that if a man has homosexual thoughts while having sex with a woman, then the child will be born a homosexual.

SEMEN
Quran verse 86:7 says semen is produced from between the lower ribs and the backbone. Nuri & Hoque defended this verse, claiming it described the location of the testes prior to the testes descending to the scrotum. Actually, the testes descend to the scrotum in the late fetal stages before the baby is born. No sperm are produced until at least age ten, although a clear liquid with no sperm in it is sometimes produced at age 8.
Asad twisted the verse to claim it meant that sperm produced near the lower ribs of man united with an ovum created near a woman’s pelvic arch.
Edip Yüksel mistranslated the verse to say “between the spine and the testicles”.
The Study Quran mistranslated the word “ribs” in verse 86:7 as “pelvic arch”, removing the science controversy  in the revelation about where sperm are produced.
